This is a very long skew bridge that is actually a cut and shut tunnel of approx 100 yards long. That's why it is blocked off and for bats only, rather than railway enthusiasts. The substantial cutting at the South portal has been filled in all the way to Settrington level crossing, which would have taken tens of thousands of tons just to restore the land of Settrington Hall. If you drive across the top on the road you can completely miss the tunnel due to the amount of bushes!

Yes it has, but this one started off in the cutting that no one recognised :)
