A very fine NER station that I visited a few weeks back, but where is it?

Yes , Kettleness it is, and it still has the original sandstone cappings on both platforms.
Re: Quiz of the day
Awww,I was going to say 'Kettleness too - even though I've only visited on Google earth.
Can we make this a regular feature - aSurely Alan must have some suitable @where's this' photo's.
Just don't blow the answer 3 hours after posting it next time !

Re: Quiz of the day
Well the thing about the stations on this line (Whitby to Saltburn) is that they were all to an identical design (also the same station design was used on the Pickering to Seamer line) so I think I don't need to fall on my sword yet! I've got a large collection of photos by other people including such obscure places as Wilstrop Siding station on the York to Harrogate line but Copyright laws say I can't post them

Re: Quiz of the day
I,m sure that quiz of the day could possibly include structures or places on the M&DR or other stations, tunnels, bridges, signal boxes or loco sheds etc
But the rule could be that it has to be within the NER region, if thats OK.

Yeah, reckon it would have to be somewhere fairly local - or at least somewhere people from this area will have most likely visited....AndyB wrote:I,m sure that quiz of the day could possibly include structures or places on the M&DR or other stations, tunnels, bridges, signal boxes or loco sheds etc

Still, there's loads - Withernsea and Hornsea branches, Bev-york, forge valley, Thirsk and Malton, Scarboro - whitby, Richmond branch, pre-electrified/widened ECML Stations etc...., Leeds - Ripon - Northallerton, Thirsk town Branch etc .... Y'know, places in and around East and North Yorkshire....
Here's one for ya....
