Or come and see us on December 3rd or 10th, as well as the usual rides you can buy a Christmas tree, all sorts of different sizes plus get a hot drink.

Again as a bit of fun and relief to cold and dark nights, another chance to get those old piccies out and look at the life, times and activities of the Yorkshire Wolds Railway, especially if you joined us in later years.

Three from the railway's 5th birthday event on site at Fimber, Sunday 20th October 2013.

As one can see, the site was progressing beyond the initial clearing of earth stages and was starting to look rather smart with all the new road planings forming a tidy surface area to walk and park on and the new car park entrance gates in the background, installed only six months earlier courtesy of the railways first successful LEADER funding bid.

The railway requires many skills to make it all work and you don't have to be an expert, just enthusiasm and a willingness to turn your hand to things that maybe you have done before or something new you'd like to try.

The railway also affords opportunities to socialise with fellow volunteers and, for example, enjoy activities such as the annual Sponsored Walk, held in previous years, whilst simultaneously raising vital funds to help develop and grow the railway.

Two or three photo's from the railway's Sponsored Walk in June 2014.

I like this thread Ivan! A great idea and it shows just how much has been achieved in the last eleven years.
