Post by 4008 »

Hello all

We are on the look out for a fishplate nut running spanner.

If anyone has one that they no longer need, please get in touch!

Thanks

Temporary fishplate spanners in hand, have just dug out some suitable pipe to weld onto 1" and 7/8"w spanners.

We are now asking all our members to search their tool boxes, garages, sheds and attics to see if they have any spare 1/4, 3/8,1/2, 3/4 inch drive sockets,in MM, A/F, Whit size's, extentions, ratchet handles or any socket pieces they can donate to the railway. We are trying to build up as comprehensive a tool kit as we can to assist us in our work. We are stuggling at the moment for these items.
If you have any good, undamaged, unused socket sets, please bring them along or drop them off every one will be greatly received.
Brian B.

The "rolling stock department" is still short of very large spanners for loco running gear and new ones are extremely expensive, so we still need these as well, no matter how scabby! All the big spanners will have to live in the BT cabin until we get an engineering workshop...

John, if it is available then we would like to have it thank you very much. The spring adjusters will be about 1-1/2" Whit, hopefully we will have an engineering workshop at some point to put all of the metal bashing gear in, with a tasty steel bench............
