Great work everyone. I like the potting bench, Alan. It should get some use.

Great day at Fimber with almost constant sunshine and fourteen visitors! One chap wants to volunteer and we should hear from him soon when he becomes a member. Visitors are welcome and much needed and appreciated but they do stop you from getting on with the work. I’m not complaining though, visitors are necessary to the success of the railway even if I do get a bit hoarse from telling our story over and over again!
Despite the visitors much work was done at Fimber yesterday, mainly by the Wombles as around seven of them beavered away gardening, painting and generally doing a great job. As well as talking to visitors I managed to sort out the locks on the shop after we had another break in by some people who have no respect for other people’s property.
I also repaired the damage they did to a donation box they smashed which probably gained them a few pence. They even left 30p in it! Also tidied up the scrap trailer with Chris’s help. He kindly cut up some stuff so it would fit in the trailer. I also cut some board to size to make a notice board that will display our fundraising target when someone with artwork skills paints it up. Any volunteers able to do that? The idea is for a ‘thermometer’ which will record the progress of the fund.
Altogether a grand day at Fimber.

Re: Work in Progress
I had a look at vb4 yesterday and the chaps are making really good progress . They told me there going to use plywood boarding on the roof prior to roofing felt, To get it water tight .
It soon won’t be a eyesore much longer and it’s a huge transformation compared to what it was couple of months ago.
The large pile of branches near the compost bin was also burnt yesterday to get rid of it as it was a nice ideal day to burn them.
