Much of the land was returned to its original owners when the railway closed. In the case of the section we are proposing to build on near S+F station it now belongs to the Sledmere Estate who have kindly offered use of it to us for the project.

Hi everyone. If you don't have access to the Members' Area you might not have heard the fantastic news that we've been given planning permission for the Visitor Centre and a mile of track towards Wetwang. We're starting to get some press coverage, and you can hear me being interviewed on BBC Radio Humberside on BBC iPlayer for the next seven days. The interview is about 53 minutes into the programme.

I don't wish to sound pedantic but whilst Beeching is lampooned for many line closures I don't think this was one attributable to him.tigerbrew wrote:Since Dr Beeching wealded his axe on the line what happened to the ownership of the trackbed.

You are quite correct in that assumption, John.
The line closed in 1958, well before Beeching.
