I've just been looking at a some old plans/maps of the Driffield area and found a couple of things which may be common knowledge but I don't remember hearing of before.
Prior to the building of the Market Weighton line the signal box controlling the crossing of Beveley Road in Driffield was on the other side of the track and the other side of Beverley Road to its successor Driffield West. It is definately shown as a box and not a ground frame or whatever.
Secondly just down the line towards Market Weighton there was a trailing crossover just before Kelleythorpe box. A track left the main line Driffield side of this which then branched into 3 sidings somewhere where the rugby club is now. Apparently this was to do with the building of the original airfield at Eastburn.
Does anyone have any further details/photos of either of these?

Re: Driffield West
I have a JW Armstrong photo with no location details on the back which I think is taken from the site of Driffield Inner Junction on the M&D but obviously since it is a copyright photo I can't post it?

Just as a matter of interest how long does copyright last on photographs?

Re: Driffield West
As far as I remember, if you have the negative you have the copyright. If the photographer is still alive but there is no negative he still has copyright. In the case of JW Armstrong the copyright will probably be with the JW Armstrong Trust though I was told that they don't have all of his negatives. In the case of this photo they may have the negative but not know where it (the photo) is.

I prefer to err on the side of caution. There are unfortunately a strain of people nowadays who think that "because you put your photo's on the internet I can do what I like with them" (that's a quote.

I do a bit of photography and it annoys me when people either use your photo without asking or try to pass it off as their own (that hasn't happened to me yet but it did to one of my workmates a few years ago)AlanL wrote:I prefer to err on the side of caution.
