I will donate 100 quid for the bag(s). Sorry for the delay but I have been remote camping.

Hello folks I've contacted the the auctioneer this morning and the lot sold for £620 . A bit crazy to say the least I placed a bid of £300 then increased to it to £350, but when I herd it sold for £620 well that's stupid / a bit mad to say the least, you win some you lose some I guess!

Chris this is very disappointing, but many thanks for your efforts in trying to acquire the cash bags. It is now very clear that named hardware and artifacts for the MDR have become both very desirable for collectors of NER memorabilia and very valuable.
Some people might think that £620 is a ridiculous price to pay for two bits of leather with some brass plates, but these items are of historical interest and branch line artifacts seem to be at the top of the league when it comes to auction results. What price for a Burdale platform Seat back plate? I would expect +£1000 if one came up at auction.
Out of interest, a different but exceptionally nice Burdale cash bag sold at auction in 2016, I wonder how much it made?

Interesting point Andy. I do wonder what people will do with them after purchasing?

With reference to the BUrdale cash bag I remember seeing it on the sale room.com The one Andy is referring to I'm pretty sure it went for £160. I only wish now I'd had a go at trying to get it for the railway. As it was in July 2016 I joined the railway and would have been a nice item to get.
