Re: Track and turn outs.

Bear in mind the haulage cost if you’re thinking of bidding! Also you say “turn outs” but the tender describes them as a “common crossing”. Are we sure they’re turn outs? They’re in Keith up here in North East Scotland, only half an hour away from where I live. Transporting 55’ long rails from here ...

You’re getting your Wills mixed up I think Andy. Will over the road is “Will the tractor” on here.

Re: Christmas decorations appeal.

I appreciate we’re trying to get organised in good time for next year but are we not better off waiting to see what stuff gets donated from the very recent appeal before going out and spending money? We’ll feel a bit daft if we go out and spend £150 and then get given loads and end up with more than...

Great publicity but it reads as though the TSO is already in use, I hope we don’t disappoint anyone.

Warwick can’t possibly have been that old in 1948! In fact he might not have even been born then. It could of course be a relation of his though.

Absolutely correct.

Plus of course if someone won it for £720 then that means there was at least one other person prepared to pay £700 for it too who dropped out of the bidding at that point.

Re: Running Day Reports 2021.

I know the weather’s been kind, but last time we opened in an October I think we had something like 12 or 13 visitors each Sunday, so a massive increase! Watching from afar it looks like the numbers are well up pretty much every week this year which just goes to show that all the hard work both on ...

Re: Hull and Barnsley Railway visit

I wouldn’t see any of those problems being an issue with the H&BR stock Alan as if we’re lucky enough to be offered one of their coaches it will come to us in a fully restored operational condition. I believe our board are already rightly very wary of any group that might wish to bring a project...

Re: Hull and Barnsley Railway visit

Beware of "coach groups" bringing their coaches to the line. On the 3 railways I have volunteered on , it never ends well. In what way? I’m hopeful that there’s a chance we’ll have the offer of at least one of their coaches when overhauled so what pitfalls do we need to watch for? Paul
