Our open evenings are fun events, which usually involve a talk by an invited guest featuring some sort of audio and/or visual display. They are also a great way to meet the YWR Committee, and allow you to ask face to face any questions you have about the Group or its actions.
Refreshments and the full range of memorabilia are usually available to purchase.
Members are given free entry to nearly all these events, and although none members are welcomed and encouraged to come along, a nominal charge will be made for entry.
Please feel free to download and print a poster to publicise the event where available.
Should you wish to discuss any event, before or after it has happened, please contact us.
The YWR will again be returning with a stand to the show – now in its 143rd year. Come and pay us a visit on stand W329. Of interest is that the former Market Weighton to Driffield railway line trackbed passes by our stand location!
An exciting treasure hunt around Driffield.
In addition to our usual Sunday running, the YWR will be open mid week to offer something a little different during the summer holidays!
Christopher Vine, author of the popular children’s books Peter’s Railway will be paying the YWR a visit!
Now it its 3rd year, our popular Best of British event returns!
