We are proud to be part of the #LoveYourRailway campaign that launched in 2021 and runs through the summer holidays.

Spearheaded by the #nymr and #heritagerailwayassociation, the campaign is a nationwide drive to raise awareness of the many heritage railways across the UK – of which the #ywrailway is one!

From now until the end of August, each week will see a different theme highlighting the impact of the work carried out by heritage railways with regards to conservation, education, and research.

This week we’re celebrating #history. The YWRstarted life in October 2008 as the Yorkshire Wolds Railway Restoration Project following a some posts on a local forum – and the rest, as they say is history!

After completing a feasibility study and submitting plans (after raising the fees of £24000), we gained access to the site now known as Fimber Halt in October 2012 when it was a bare field.

Everything you can now see has been made possible by YOUR support and our wonderful members.

Thank you!
