Sledmere & Fimber Visitor Centre

Post by Rail Rover »

We are pleased to announce that we have now submitted our planning application which can be seen at:
http://www.eastriding.gov.uk/newpublica ... JFTBJI2000

We will hopefully soon get the chance to make use of the huge amount of work done over the last 3 years!

For further information on this & other progress, please come along to the Annual General Meeting in Driffield on 8th March. This meeting is for members only, but you can join on the night before the meeting.
From Admin : Please note that the council's website will be temporarily unavailable on the 27th - 28th - 29th March in order for essential maintenance to be carried out. It is anticipated that the system will be fully available again by noon on Friday 30th March, at the latest.

This is the proposed site as detailed in the plans, with a pre-arranged site visit by some of our committee members.

Please may we ask that no-one enters this site without permission; the land is currently farmed & does not have public access.

We welcome & appreciate the interest that is growing in the project; even more so now that our planning application has been lodged. However we hope that permission will be forthcoming & members of the public will be able to fomally access the site shortly thereafter.

Your continued support of this project is much appreciated.

Am I right in thinking that you are looking at the land immediately Driffield side of the former Fimber station site, ie across the road?

Much more sensible than the picnic site. Good thinking.

As others have said, good news indeed.

Having looked at the details in the planning docs through the link posted above, I'm not clear what the next steps are, as far as the planning permission goes. I see a deadline for comments by 16th March..... then what? I appreciate that the process is under the control of the local authority, and presumably this then goes to a members' committee, but what would be an approximate date that a response might come out of the sausage machine? (That assumes that there aren't any complications, which again isn't under our control....)
