Vintage Railway Film 1963.

Post by Turnip Town »

Don't know if people have seen this film. An interesting look at the modernisation programme on the railways in full swing in 1963 - plenty of green diesels as well as steam !

From what little I have watched, it looks like a good video that I shall be watching properly later on.

There are also a couple of programmes of old 50's, 60's and even a little bit earlier railway footage (originally on 9.5mm cine, and therefore not commercial) on a TV channel called "That's TV" tomorrow (Mon 15th) & Tue 16th, both at 13.05.

On terrestrial TV covering Malton / Filey / Scarborough "That's TV" is on channel 7, but you'll have to look up for your own area.

There are also railway programmes on Wed 11.40, Thu 11.40, Fri 11.35, but I'm not sure whether there are of old footage.

Unfortunately there were also some old railway footage films on last week as well, one of which I happened to see and was excellent.
