Signal box

The last two weeks I’ve managed to have a bit of time to help with painting the signal box. This week I was invited to be the first person to add the brown paint to the gable end and there was much excitement for the Hull and Barnsley crew as they begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Peter Cox had brought the paint and also had the paint bush in his hand. He told me that the restoration group had first considered saving the signal box back in 2008 so it has been a long time getting to this stage. So far so good. Well done to the whole team. I’ll try and help as much as time allows.

I have access to some slates. Just need to arrange delivery.

The box is looking brill!

There’s some excellent work being done by the volunteers involved with this project. Well done!

We also have one of our members who is a roofer who is or was willing to do the roof for nothing, also supplying the materials and time, as long as we gave him some free publicity, which I think is nice of him.

No, the future may see a need, just like the signalling equipment we have in store, it enables projects in tge future
