Running Day Reports 2021.

Post by Turnip Town »

Just a quick shout out to say that yesterday on site the railway had 40 visitors and took just over £460 including four new adult memberships with 1 being for 2 years and another for 5. There were also a couple of much appreciated donations.

That's wonderful Ivan. Even without the locomotive running.

Thanks for the update.

I called in at site at mid morning on Sunday and by just after 12:00pm Mr Chris Shuttleworth?? arrived the chap who did the exam of the air receivers / tanks inspection.. He Said what a very thorough job the volunteers has done getting them back in. And they’ve passed with flying colours!

And to get £460 in takings and four new members is very good indeed! Philip In the bizarre is doing very well to and slowly but surely selling quite a bit of stuff including quite a lot of dvds! :D

That is amazing as good if not better than a Sunday in Summer.
I think the Directors should seriously consider staying open until the end of October next year.

Thanks for the report.
I could tell it was a little quieter, but if we had not have opened, we would not have taken any money.
Well done to all!

That is excellent!

I know the weather’s been kind, but last time we opened in an October I think we had something like 12 or 13 visitors each Sunday, so a massive increase!

Watching from afar it looks like the numbers are well up pretty much every week this year which just goes to show that all the hard work both on and off site is really starting to pay off. Once we close for winter it'll be interesting to know how the visitor numbers and total amount taken on site throughout the whole season compare to previous years (excluding 2020 obviously).
