That's fascinating. You can see the "pumping engine" on this map" https://maps.nls.uk/view/102344680 however on the large scale 1890 map it has gone. https://maps.nls.uk/view/125634268 Even if it was disused the 1890 map should still show it - it could of course have been surrounded by trees but it would be surprising if they omitted it ? It would be class to comb the site with a metal detector !andybat48 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 5:39 pm There is or was the remains of a pumping station or I presume that is what it is on the site of Wharrham Percy alongside the woodland area that was there in the very early eighties when My uncle and I fenced the site off and planted trees there. I don't know if this is what you are referring to.

The building that we saw and entered was not all that big really, but some of the pipework was still in place. Water was running quite freely and at a quick pace.
Re: Trainz Simulator
In case anyone is interested I got a bit burnt out with the M&DR so I have turned my attention to the Easingwold Railway. This is the very early stages of it , really just the track. Somehow I had the idea that at just 2.5 miles I could do it in one day but it's been 4 days now !

My Easingwold line is , like an Australian tailor, making strides and here is a Holden F3 approaching Alne past Forest Hall farm bound for York. Although the F3 isn't native to the NER she is such a beautiful machine I can't resist using her.

I love what Alan is doing here. If people see these simulations, it would give them a more complete history of what the line was all about. The odd bit I admit is a bit far-fetched, but it adds fun to it too.

Now, this I would love to see.
Re: Trainz Simulator
In case anyone has been wondering - or not - I upgraded my PC last year and in the process I managed to lose a vast amount of work I had done on the simulator but I have managed to retrieve some of it and here is an A8 passing through Burdale.
