Re: It's not all Units!
Although I like the Colas Rail colours, I cannot help but still like the BR large logo blue in which 56 105 emerged from BREL Doncaster during 1984 or thereabouts !
I see 56006 (Romanian built loco) and at least one other are now preserved. I wonder if we could make use of a 3,250bhp diesel loco at Fimber ?! Not sure what axle loading they are though! 17 - 18 tons ?

Re: It's not all Units!
Although this topic is not meant to be about units... It's a fairly rare occurrence for a class 142/144 to make it north of Beverley nowadays on the Wolds Coast, the attached photo sees 142063 at Bridlington awaiting to work 2W28 to Hull.
Bouncing onto the YWR soon... hopefully!

Re: It's not all Units!
This has got me wondering. How feasible would it be to get a Pacer onto the YWR in a few years time?

There will be some people wishing you hadn't asked that Sameyersey468 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 9:24 am This has got me wondering. How feasible would it be to get a Pacer onto the YWR in a few years time?
It's a subject that a few of us are actually keen to support, even if it is one car push & pulled with 'Eddie' or similar, & suitably painted.
Time will tell....

To be honest I'm not a great fan of the Pacers, probably because I'm not keen on the Leyland National

I suppose It could confuse some people in years to come; they may think the 13.30 Fimber - Wetwang service has been the subject of 'bustitution'

I wonder if our line would have been using Pacers now if it hadn't closed

Re: It's not all Units!
Leaf fall season is here once again, that means we have the Rail Head Treatment Trains (RHTT) back out in force across the country.
20305 is seen at Beverley along with classmate 20303 almost at diagrams end working 3S14 Grimsby - Bridlington, the consist ended up being held under the roof for around 10 minutes whilst waiting for a Northern unit to clear the signalling section between Beverley and Driffield.
The acoustics were certainly a positive aspect of the stop!

I don’t know how you get so lucky Tom.
I can understand a few years ago why it would stand under the roof in case the driver had to go to the signal box, but in this day and age there is nothing to stop the train going up to the signal which is well outside the station.

I must've been lucky Graham! I'd tried many times before but had not succeeded.GrahamD wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 12:16 am I don’t know how you get so lucky Tom.
