Concrete post North Grimston

Post by triff »

While out doing a bit of mid-winter rambling the other day I was on the embankment between the site of the former vidauct and the first road bridge before North Grimston station and I came across a pre-cast concrete post about 8 foot in height but with no apparent holes for supporting a sign or other infrastructure and I am perplexed as to what its purpose was. It isn`t adjacent a former occupation crossing to have carried a trespass sign, it is too tall to be anything to do with telephone battery boxes etc.Anyone out there with any suggestions?-TRIFF

Out of curiosity, is there a public right of way, or permissive access, on that stretch of the railway ?
