DVLR 25th anniversary event

This March the Derwent Valley Light Railway is celebrating its 25th year of running passager as a heritage railway, to mark this milestone we are holding a special event on Sunday 25th March. There is a lot going that day so worth coming along, below is just some of what’s planned.

Passage trains running, the mark 1 & our veranda coach Sylvia are running together a rare event in itself

A freight train using the 04 D2245 which was a DVLR locomotive in the 1970s

Driver for a fiver drive the class 03 for £5.00

Other locomotive to be in service Ruston Hornsby 88DS Rowntree No3 Ken Cooke, again another York locomotive

Demonstrators of the newly resorted DVLR Pump trolley & the Wickham trolley

Helicopter rides an extra charge
