unidentified non flying objects

Postby g.89 » Tue Dec 05, 2017 11:04 pm

As some of you may know I have been photographing and identifying objects to do with railways in the YWR's growing collection of railway artefacts. These are then given a unique ID number and entered into a catalogue of YWR assets.

So far 159 artefacts have been catalogued but two of them remain 'unidentified' Here are the photos:-

Catalogue no. 108

Catalogue no. 159

If anyone can tell us what they are we would be most grateful and our catalogue can be brought up to date.

Please use this thread for your reply or if you are unfamiliar with posting on this site you can ring me, Alan Cooper, on 07534089110.

Thanks for your help, Alan

Alan,
I have ringed in red three of the offending No 108 catalogue items. The casting is used to spread the bolt load on the back of a round steel signal post, so that the post isn't crushed when the through bolt is tightened to secure the semaphore bracket to the post. You could maybe call them "load spreader for semaphore bracket through bolt on steel signal post".

I am leaving the other item for somebody else to look into, we need to share the love around a bit more on the YWR as it were.

Andy
