Re: Work in Progress
Just a few hopefully inspirational pics from the volunteers at Midsomer Norton (on the former Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, closed in March 1966) as they lay the last of the rails and sleepers to the base of the infilled Chilcompton tunnel cutting.
Hopefully it won't be too long before YWR volunteers will begin the same at Fimber, albeit without an infilled cutting to deal with!

Re: Work in Progress
Hi folks, I haven't posted much recently so there maybe a few to follow.
Starting with VB3, which as you know is now fully restored but here are three pics of the garden tool storage I've recently done. The tools are now readily accessible, please make an effort to put them back carefully after use to keep the van tidy!

Re: Work in Progress
You may have read in other threads that the support panels for the duckets donated some time ago had gone missing but were subsequently found hiding in the green storage van? Well half of them have been fitted in the workshop van, the other half still to be fitted in the engineering shop.
Mos and Heather have done a grand job in the garden and Mos recently gave it a final weed and tidy before winter.

Re: Work in Progress
So, now we're up to date I can show you what happened yesterday.
We arrived on site to find it still had about an inch and a half of snow but that didn't put the polar bears off, they simply revel in it!
Do you remember the hump that gave so many people, including Eddy, the hump? Well its gone! A good turnout of volunteers worked tirelessly to keep warm, I mean take up the track. A task that had been thought would take two days but thanks to the snow (?) they all worked so hard the job was done in one. Once again there wasn't enough room in the small van for everyone to have lunch under cover. Thankfully it was a beautiful day and Tony and I sat out in the sunshine eating our lunch.
Thanks must go to Andy Hire for the use of the little skid loader who's proper name is, JCB Robot 160 Skid Loader.
