We reopen for the 2017 season on Sunday 16 April from 11am – 5pm, and will then be open every Sunday and Bank Holiday until the end of October.

Locomotive “Sir Tatton Sykes” will be in operation all day (subject to availability). Entrance to the site and visitor centre is free, with a small charge being made for cab rides.

The big news for 2017 is the proposed extension in to what we refer to as field 2. The perimeter of this large extension to more than double the existing track length is currently being marked out. However, due to a major funding application we are currently submitting, we have had to put actual tracklaying on hold as part of the bid criteria. Construction will resume once the outcome of the bid has been realised which should be around July/August.

We are always keen to involve new people, and anyone interested in becoming a member, or volunteering for any aspect such as driving (after training), should visit the YWR website at www.yorkshirewoldsrailway.org.uk
