I've just been over the railway at Tollerton and couldn't help but notice that the Shark brake van that has been sitting there rotting away has gone.

Anyone any idea where?

Paul.

Found it!

It seems to have found its way onto a farm in the local area. I'm not going to post exactly where is case whoever owns it now doesn't want it made public but I've seen it today and it appears to be part of a small collection which includes another shark brake van, an LMS brake van and three freight box vans. I have some photos but can't add them from my phone it seems.

Over a year later and I happen to go to the same place and all six vans are still there, seemingly untouched.

These were bought to be converted into clamping units and were awaiting the glamping site ground work being completed, not on the farm by the way.

Just over another year has gone by and they're still in the same place, still apparently untouched...

I was there a few weeks ago Paul.

I got the guy’s phone number from the nearby house so can make contact if we wish.

I think from what others who have made contact in the past have said that the owner has rather an optimistic view as to their value. That said if the glamping project is perhaps no longer happening the farmer might be keen to get his yard back and be applying some pressure.

Of course all the above is just speculation on my part, I have no actual information on them other than their location.

Paul.
