Re: Work in Progress
Well what a difference a week makes! Last week I was advising that no-one should go to Fimber Halt due to the severe weather, snow, high winds and very low temperatures. This week it was back to almost normal (it didn't rain!) and we decided to get on with the enormous list of jobs that need completion before we open to the public for the first time in 2018. Including yesterday, the Wednesdayites have just four working days left before the big event! The list of jobs included tidying up the visitor area (to which I have given the rather grand title of 'concourse') As the weather was good, dry with some sunshine and light wind, we decided to get on with the weeding and clearing of debris from the concourse and the entrance and path from the picnic site. We had the hedges trimmed by a local lad with one of those flaying machines - a grand job but, oh so messy with twigs and chunks of tree all over the site. Backbreaking work to pick it all up. It certainly proved that there is more to running a railway than driving trains

Great photos Alan! Did you reset your camera to full res and upload using the fancy new system?!

No Mathew, I carried on with low res and the old system. I need to try dragging and dropping instead next time but old dogs and new tricks eh!
Just tried to drag a pic to this but no luck I'm afraid. Could it be a Mac thing?

Re: Work in Progress
Well obviously not! But the post a reply page gave no indication that the pic had been added?

Re: Work in Progress
The camera did well taking that picture of me weeding I’m surprised the reflection from my polished head ( follicly challenged ) didn’t upset the automatic functionality on the apature setting .
All joking apart it was great to be out in the fresh air on a nice day getting on with some work towards opening up soon.
What a difference a day makes today’s morning weather ( snow , sleep and heavy rain ) we wouldn’t have achieved nothing like as much .
Steve

Re: Work in Progress
Another day at fimber halt, fine drizzle was on the agenda for the weather but it didn't stop Brian, Tom, Iain and I from pushing the works on the track forward, we managed to get a number of sleepers roughly placed and rail in the four foot (between the rails) for next weekends works.
