Re: Garforth footbridge
In reality, I don’t see how it we could ever use this bridge. It’s also a bit of distraction from sourcing / building important infrastructure that is required for welfare and the operation.

Re: Woks list for opening and general
For opening. The unsightly 4 wheeled barrow down by the BV needs moving behind the fence and the BV sign attaching to the fence. The remaining sleepers next to the BV shed to go to field. The large square steel bench to be moved to outside the Eng Container. The MK2 roof gutters and down pipes need ...

Fimber & Sledmere Station & workings
looking at the old 25" maps, the perimeter of the goods yard North of the crossing, at the North end of station can clearly be seen, along with the entrance into the yard at the crossroads next to "GP". This confirms that the LNER concrete gate posts that are still on the corner of wh...

The next job was to move the buffers out of the four foot to allow inspection. Geoff, the JCB, Brian, Will, Cap...

Re: Work in Progress
Brake van overhaul update. The ride height was checked at the four corners, which should be 1054mm from the buffer centres to the rail head. The North end was found to be high and the South end was low, there is still about 3/4 ton of equipment still to fit, so the springs were adjusted to get the h...

Re: Role of Honour
I think the role of honour is a excellent idea . I’ve seen at Pickering station and other stations , brass plaques screwed to benches seats, in memory of a volunteer who helped at a station or which ever department role. I’m only saying this as an example of what could be done at site. But I’m sure...

Re: My friend Richard Broadley
Richard was a thoroughly nice chap, and fitted in very quickly with the Wednesdayites, he was self managed and always knew exactly what needed to be done. I will miss his tales of old Priestman excavators, traction engines and threshing machines, and his broad knowledge and love of all things mechan...
