Re: MDR brick
It is possible that as the MDR is on the cement facing side of the brick, you would not know who made the brick until it was cleaned up. It should be easy to clean one as it would be Lime mortar which is easier to remove than cement. When those buildings were built it would most likely be mortar, n...

Re: MDR brick
They seem to have also let the permissive signs there disintegrate, as with the one at the gate up the valley to the tunnel. This Castleford brick is from bridge 10, but not sure if it is original or whether it is a repair brick. IMG_4243.jpg This one from Bridge 8 at Grimston IMG_4136.jpg Andy

Re: Burdale Station (site of)
I am not sure when the arch was removed Andy. I think I have only seen one photo of it in place sadly and we don't have it on file! Is this looking towards Fimber? You are right about the lack of photos of this bridge and without all of the present vegetation around the abutments and embankments, i...

Re: Burdale Station (site of)
I believe this photo of Burdale Station was taken in the late 1980's, the brick railway bridge is still extant and I think the arch was removed in the 1990's?

Re: Malton Loco Shed
I have just tried the negative / slide attachment on my Canon scanner, which I have had for about 5 years but thought it would be totally useless. But now I find that I can get 4800dpi with 35mm & slides, and 2400dpi with large format negatives! Andy Malton Shed South J39 1955 Colour Rail MyN.jpg

Re: New addition to the YWR Fleet
That's great Andy. Thanks. I've got permissions to use all the photos I know of currently on Flickr if you would like those sending over? That would be good. Back to the fundraising, the loco has not been fully appraised yet, so it is not possible to know where some of the funds will be spent. Once...
