I hope we have all seen this film from the 60's showing us all just how grim it was working on t' railways in the snow. Warning - the film gets a bit crayzee towards the end and starts flashing images.

I live just down the road from Malton level crossing. MikeE is correct. Many people do cross when the lights are flashing, people do run across when the barriers are coming down. Like the idea of a calender. How about before and after shots, then in a few years.....before, overgrown, then with the "new" railway.
