Re: YWR Talk at Reighton

Well done Phil and thanks to Reighton. This talk has raised more money than we take on a running day at Fimber!

Re: Work in Progress

Today Saturday 13th April, saw a few volunteers working hard on two major projects. Beth and I tackled the large amount of waste wood that has piled up on the caravan chassis in the process of dismantling it for scrap. This exercise has been going on for several weeks as the caravan was taken apart ...

Re: Memorial ride for Dave Myers

Does the outside sink need reinstatement ? This could be done in the process of moving the BT hut and placing the Carnaby cabin. The tin shed standing by the signal box could be used to contain the sink making it more comfortable to use in wet weather. I know it is damaged but I believe it can be r...

Re: Wednesday 20th March

With regards to the cigaret machine, the leather bag and the ledger, should they not be in the Mk1 visitor centre/museum? What about that fearsome looking machete and another large knife? Do they have any railway heritage? If not I think they would e better recycled and certainly off our premises.

That cupboard may have come from Whitedale station so ideally should be in vb5 with the rest of the Whitedale furniture but it may not be possible to fit i...

Re: Wednesday 20th March

The legality of putting the caravan chassis on the road is doubtful. Unless a light board can be obtained it would definitely be illegal to blow it as break lights etc may not be visible.

Re: Wednesday 20th March

Perhaps it would be safer to remove the roof sheets before the doors and windows as then there would be nothing for the wind to get under.

Re: Wednesday 20th March

So it seems the St Crux room still contains the books. These can be transferred to the second room on the left in the cab cabin which will effectively become the 'Library' Has anyone investigated the removal of the safe and hoewit can be refitted in the cab cabin under the sign on point? The b...
