Re: Wednesday 20th March

So it seems the St Crux room still contains the books. These can be transferred to the second room on the left in the cab cabin which will effectively become the 'Library' Has anyone investigated the removal of the safe and hoewit can be refitted in the cab cabin under the sign on point? The ...

Well done to all volunteers at the show, there was certainly a lot of interest, record takings, and new contacts have been made.

Re: Lifting chains Loler

There needs to be always at least one 1/2 T chain block in certification, in case the rods or something else needs to be removed from Eddie. As long as there is a shackle and two soft slings, that should suffice.

Re: Sprotty Box update

The four levers were picked up from Gatehouse Services yesterday after being blasted and were brought to site this morning.
The levers were power wire brushed off, to remove the sharp edges, and were then given a first coat of primer.

The New Holland Pier signal box was built by the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, as was the lever frame and levers. These are very old, but in great condition.

Re: Quiz of the day

You lot didn't do too well on this, but Chris was on the right track! This quiz was prompted by the finding of a bag of old rail tour tickets in the caravan, and doing a bit of research. Here is the rather obscure link from the photograph to our railway: 1. On 2nd October 1965, the Railway Correspon...

Re: Quiz of the day

I have found a link between BR Britannia pacific No 70012 “ John O Gaunt”, and the Yorkshire Wolds Railway.
What is the connection?
