It is interesting to see how other preservationists go about things. I say others because I am with the Rother Valley Railway at Robertsbridge in East Sussex. I was the Buffet Manager for several years, they were at times ‘lean’ years the sort that leave you wondering if you are mad or something. It would have been so easy to get disheartened-no doubt those(and of course there were more than ‘a few) that did go did not have the ability to see the future-ie lacked imagination. Now it is all coming together. Now the Kent and East Sussex Railway are taking ‘us’ seriously. Those days when all there was ,was muddy ground, some rusty rails and a pair of cat iron gates (possibly) ex SECRly.seem so long ago. No doubt you are made up of people who have volunteered elsewhere but I want to encourage you to believe that with hard work ‘IT’ will happen.
